The Lake Shore Early Childhood Center is owned and operated by Lake Shore Public Schools. The program is certified as a family child care center. The Lake Shore Early Childhood Center is certified by the State of Michigan as a Child Care Center.

Parent Notification of Licensing Notebook, Child Care Organizations Act, 1097 Public Act 116

All child care centers must maintain a licensing notebook which includes all licensing inspection reports, special investigations reports and all related corrective action plans (CAP). The notebook must include all reports issued and CAP’s developed on and after May 27, 2010 until the license is closed.

  • This center maintains a licensing notebook of all licensing inspection reports, special investigation reports and all related corrective action plans.

  • The notebook will be available to parents for review during regular business hours.

  • Licensing inspection and special investigations reports from the past two years are available on the Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing websites at www.michigan.gov/michildcare

 Daily Operating Hours

We are proudly open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, to accommodate working families.

Please note the specific start times for each program track:

  • Pre-K for All Extended Care: Available starting at 6:30 AM and running until 6:00 PM.

  • Infant, Toddler, & Tuition-Based Preschool: Classrooms and care open at 7:00 AM.

📅 Staff Training Closure: To ensure our team remains highly qualified and up to date on best practices, our center closes early at 4:30 PM on the first Monday of every month for essential staff meetings and professional development.

📋 Custom Schedules & Attendance

Because every family's routine is different, each child will have a personalized drop-off and pick-up schedule. This schedule is arranged in partnership with our families to best meet your household needs while maintaining a consistent routine for our classrooms.

❄️ District Calendar & Closures

Our preschool programs and childcare center follow the official Lake Shore Public Schools district calendar.

  • Closures: There will be no preschool classes or childcare on days when Lake Shore Public Schools is closed due to snow days, inclement weather, teacher workshop days, or designated holidays.

  • Planning Ahead: Please refer directly to the main Lake Shore school calendar for a complete list of specific closure dates throughout the academic year.
