Welcome to the Shorian Early Childhood Center — we are so glad you’re here! We believe deeply that the early years are among the most precious and formative in a child’s life. At the ECC, our dedicated and highly trained staff are committed to nurturing the whole child: heart, mind, and body. We work every day to create a warm, safe, and joyful place where your little one can flourish — and where families feel genuinely welcomed and supported as equal partners in their child’s growth.
We provide unique learning environments designed to meet the individual needs of all our youngest learners. Through the magic of hands-on play, rich exploration, and caring relationships, our early childhood center helps children develop the early literacy, math, motor, and social skills that lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. The Shorian Early Childhood Center (ECC) is the proud place where Lake Shore’s youngest learners begin their educational journey. Guided by our slogan, “Let Your Child’s Career with Lake Shore Begin with Us,” the ECC welcomes families to our beautiful, state-of-the-art early childhood facility conveniently located at 12 Mile and Harper. The center is open year-round and proudly participates in Michigan’s PreK for All program.
Our center offers a wide range of programs tailored to our community, including tuition-based preschool, PreK for All, childcare, and specialized education programs and services. Our facility features 18 welcoming classrooms thoughtfully designed to support hands-on learning, school readiness, and whole-child development. Our highly qualified and dedicated staff provide a safe, secure, and dependable environment, featuring both indoor and outdoor learning spaces that support an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum.

💬 Family Communication & Staying Connected
Communication is very important to us. We use digital tools and email to stay connected with families throughout the day. These platforms are meant to enhance—not replace—verbal communication, making it easy for you to send a quick note or check in.
Because we believe that our staff's primary focus should always be on the children, teachers do not constantly check digital messages during class time. For any urgent messages or time-sensitive updates, families should call the main office directly at (586) 285-8599 so we can assist you immediately.
